BBC's Beth Williams received the 2010 Ambassador Award. She was honored during the Hall of Fame ceremony Friday night.  Below is a little history behind Beth's contribution to broomball.

Like many others, Beth Williams began her broomball career at Miami University in Oxford, OH through their intramural program. Little did she know that 10 years later broomball would become an integral part of her life. In the fall of 2007, with the help of several passionate friends and broomball players alike, Beth became one of the founding members of the Baltimore Broomball Club.

In the infancy of the BBC, there were only enough club members to have one game a week. But the love of the game spread from that small group to others in the MidAtlantic area year after year, experiencing growth at the rate of over 35% each year. Today, the 2010 Winter and Spring sessions have sold out, reaching the capacity of the current available ice time with three games, six teams and nearly eighty players.

Even as an incorporated business, Beth is most proud of the Baltimore Broomball Club remaining a club at heart. She operates the club in her spare time, spending many hours a week, along with a committee of players, making the decisions about the day to day operation of the organization. Members pitch in to referee, keep score, run the clock, set-up equipment, record game and player statistics and even build goals! Most importantly for each session a full draft takes place keeping the playing field level so games are competitive and veteran players share their knowledge with new players.

Without the dedication, willingness to learn and help of the 175+ club member the BBC would not be the success it is today.

It was a tremedous tournament for the Batlimore Broomball Club and we are all the travel team players are proud to represent everyone in the club at the National Touranment.   And, as always, a few more nicknames were earned on the road....updates here. Thanks to everyone for the good wishes and support!
